Learning
Oceans to Earth have partnered with AimHi to support & promote high quality environmental education for all ages.
At Oceans to Earth we believe the best way to tackle environmental issues is to work together. As the saying goes, “My life amounts to no more than one drop in a limitless ocean. Yet what is any ocean but a multitude of drops?”
So we have partnered with AimHi, an organisation who’s aim is to educate primary school ages, right through to adults. Check out their awesome videos below and see what you can learn today. Or may be you’d like to take it further and get qualified by taking part in their Climate Course.
About AimHi
We began AimHi because, with schools closing around the world, millions are missing out on many months of learning.
We are building AimHi for the future because we believe that the role of teachers is changing. More information than ever before is available online, and yet with unprecedented challenges unfolding around us, far too many are demotivated, disempowered and disengaged.
Furthermore, with celebrity culture shifting away from scientists, explorers, poets and authors, and an increasingly pervasive social media, our young people desperately need better role models.
At AimHi, we focus on inspiring curiosity, building bridges between disciplines, nurturing critical thinking skills, demystifying complex concepts, and providing strong, positive role models. Through making knowledge more accessible to all, we are furthering the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 4. We also strive to open up the world of work, exposing our students to the many available paths they can take through life.
We don’t think ‘success’ should be defined by short-term information recall or the number of top grades: instead we work to enthuse and empower our students, measuring progress by how much our students want to keep learning, and how much they want to act to improve our world.”
AimHi’s Mission
- Make world-class live learning accessible to everyone.
- Provoke curiosity and a desire for discovery in as many people as possible.
- Empower people to think critically, to act on the basis of evidence, and to be wiser and kinder stewards of our biosphere and communities.
- Prepare global citizens for roles that don’t yet exist, and inspire diverse voices to tackle the world’s biggest problems.
- Put nature first in all of our thinking.

Climate Course
AimHi have launched their world-class live and interactive climate course, ‘Understand the Climate Crisis (and how to make a difference)’
With support from the likes of Cambridge Uni, The Eden Project and 1% for the Planet, it has already received extremely positive reviews. the latest lesson looks at ‘Population, Pollution and Finding a Balance’ and includes information about ocean pollution (the equivalent of eight whale stomachs-worth every second) which might resonate with everyone that cares about our oceans.
We are all on the same page in thinking that we need all hands on deck as fast as possible to conquer the climate and ecological emergency and we think that empowered people with heads full of information and great ideas is a good place to start. This kind of solutions-focused and empowering resource might be exactly the kind of thing that you and your fellow activists are looking for.
The September 2021 course has times suitable for every timezone. The course is running from Monday 20th September.
Can’t make it? Don’t worry – we’ll be running it again soon.
We really appreciate your support!
